a) Contestants must be between the ages
of high school to 27 to participate.
b) Those individuals currently under a
recording contract or making a full time living as an entertainer are not
eligible.
c) Preliminary contest dates are February
2nd, 9th, 16th and the 23rd at 1:00
pm at the Seminole Mall. There is a non-refundable $25.00 participation fee to
be paid in advance. Checks are to be made payable to the “Greater
Seminole Area Small Business Education Foundation, Inc. or you can pay
with Visa or MasterCard at the Chamber Office.
d) Contestants MUST provide their own background
music track void of vocals.
e) Contestants must be registered for the
preliminary contest and have their music selection picked out and handed to the
stage manager at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the start of the
preliminary. Contestant music selections for the semi-final and the final
events must be turned in to Lynne Wolf at
f) Contestants arriving after the
beginning of the contest automatically forfeit their eligibility.
g) Contestants must sing in the order
established by the show producers.
h) Only solo performers may enter.
i) Once the contest begins, contestants
are forbidden contact with the master of ceremonies, host and judges.
j) Performances will be judged based on
vocal ability, stage presence, costumes and overall performance.
k) Five of the best singers will be
selected at each preliminary contest guaranteeing them advancement to the
semi-finals. Of the 20 semi-finalists 10 will advance to the final competition.
l) Contestants are eligible to win cash
prizes at each preliminary contest. A $1000 grand prize will be awarded to the
winner at the final contest.
m) The decision of the judges is final
and the contest rules may be adjusted at the sole discretion of the show
producers.
